Mr. P Periyannan is the Chairman of the Imayam Trust, which runs the Imayam Educational Institutions. The Imayam Group established each of the educational institutes to provide young adults with world-class education and information. In 2007, Idhayaam College of Education, a teacher training institute was open to meet the rising demands among aspiring teachers in Trichy. It has also been accredited by NCTE, Tamil Nadu Teachers Education University, and the State Government of Tamil Nadu.
