The institution was granted NOC by the Punjab State Government to start a new veterinary and animal science college at Amritsar to start B.V.Sc. & A.H. (Bachelor of Veterinary Sciences and Animal Husbandry) 5-year program. Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana accorded affiliation in 2010. College obtained recognition from Veterinary Council of India (VCI) and in the year 2021, GADVASU granted permanent affiliation to the college and ICAR also granted accreditation to the college for a period of five years with a score of 3.17 for the degree program and 3.11 to the College equivalent to Grade "A".
