For the 2026-31 batch the IPM page prints tuition of Rs 1,93,500 a semester for years 1 to 3. The semester total is Rs 2,77,000 in semester 1 (with a one-time admission fee of Rs 20,000 and administrative charges of Rs 10,000) and Rs 2,47,000 in each of semesters 2 to 6. Years 4 and 5 follow the MBA fee that applies when the student enters the MBA phase.

The MBA accepts a valid CAT, XAT, GMAT or CMAT score; candidates without one take the school's own Thapar Management Aptitude Test (TMAT) on the interview day. The five-year IPM accepts IPMAT, SAT or CUET scores, or the school's TIPMAT. Both routes end in a personal interview. AACSB accreditation was announced on 22 April 2025, and the MBA holds NBA accreditation received on 7 May 2024 and valid up to 30 June 2027. Thapar Institute's NIRF 2025 data sheet gives NAAC accreditation from 29 November 2024 to 28 November 2029 (CGPA 3.68) and its About page says grade A++. In NIRF 2025 the institute was ranked 46 in Management and 44 Overall.

It is the management school of Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology (Deemed-to-be-University), at the Dera Bassi campus off Derabassi-Barwala Road, District Mohali, Punjab 140507, about 28 km from Chandigarh airport.
