Manonmaniam Sundaranar University (MSU), Tirunelveli was established in on September 7, 1990, by the Government of Tamil Nadu. MSU is a higher education State University, recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) and accredited Grade A by NAAC with a CGPA of 3.13 out of 4. The University has 77 affiliated colleges, 6 University Colleges, 4 Constituent Colleges and about 1.2 lakh students in Regular learning and 40,000 students in Distance learning.
