St. Joseph's Institute of Technology

St. Joseph's Institute of Technology is a private self-financed, co-educational engineering college on Old Mamallapuram Road at Semmancheri, Chennai. It was established in 2011, is run by St. Joseph's Educational Trust (registered 2 April 2012) as a Christian minority institution, and is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai. The UGC conferred autonomous status on it in June 2022 for ten years, from 2022-23 to 2031-32, and AICTE approved it for 2025-26 on 10 April 2025. In NIRF 2025 it is in the 201-300 band of the Engineering category. NBA accredited its Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Information Technology programmes for the academic years 2023-24 to 2025-26, with validity up to 30 June 2026.

AICTE approved intake for 2025-26 is 1,020 undergraduate seats: B.E. Computer Science and Engineering 240, Cyber Security 60 and Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning 60 (new in 2025), Electronics and Communication Engineering 180, Electrical and Electronics Engineering 30 and Mechanical Engineering 30, and B.Tech. Information Technology 240 and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science 180. The MBA, started in 2022, has 60 approved seats. The 34-acre campus is served by 198 faculty members, 91 of them Ph.D. holders, according to the college website. Undergraduate seats are filled in Government and Management quotas under counselling code 1149.
