G.R Educational and Research University. The college has established global benchmarks in the area of dental sciences and has a student charter cell for overall development of the students. The college provides for bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral programs in dental science covering particular areas as oral medicine and radiology, conservative dentistry and Endodontic, Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics and preventive and community dentistry. This college is a constituent unit of Dr. M.G.R. Educational and Research Institute, Deemed University and is also one of the leading dental colleges Chennai. This college is an ISO certified premium dental institution. They have a NAAC grade of A with a score of 3.31 out of 4. The college got established in 1991 and is one of the best colleges since then. The Dental Council of India and Government of India, Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, New Delhi have recognised this college. The institution acquired its deemed status in 2003 and became a constituent unit of Dr MGR Educational and Research Institute University, as per the order by University Grants Commission, New Delhi and the Union Ministry of Human Resource and Development, Government of India. The college began as an UG college with only 100 seats but now it is a full-fledged Post-graduate research institute.
