The colleg was instituted in the year 1986 as an affiliated institution under the University of Madras and later on affiliated to the Tamilnadu Dr. MGR Medical University, Chennai with three courses viz., Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Diploma in Dental Mechanic and Diploma in Dental Hygienist and Master of Dental Surgery (MDS).
