Gobi Arts and Science College

Gobi Arts and Science College is a co-educational, grant-in-aid college at Karattadipalayam, Gobichettipalayam, in Erode district of Tamil Nadu, about 40 km west of Erode. The Gobi Arts College Council, registered as a society on 25 August 1967, founded it in 1968 with Pre-University classes for first-generation learners from farming families. It is affiliated to Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, and became autonomous in 1987, the first college in Erode district to do so. NAAC accreditation history: three-star in 2001, grade A in 2007 (CGPA 3.23), 2014 (3.26) and 2019 (3.04), the last valid up to 10 March 2025. The college is funded under the DBT Star College Scheme.

Programmes run in aided and unaided streams. Aided undergraduate courses are B.A. Economics, B.Sc. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Botany and Computer Science, B.Com. and BBA; unaided courses add B.A. Tamil and English Literature, B.Com. variants, BCA and B.Sc. in Information Technology, Computer Technology, Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence and Data Science. Postgraduate courses include M.A. Economics, Tamil and English, M.Sc. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science and Information Technology, M.Com., MCA, MBA and a one-year PGDCA, and M.Phil and Ph.D programmes are offered. Applications are online, UG seats go by Part III marks under Tamil Nadu reservation rules, and MCA admission has used TANCET.
