Seats are allotted through online counselling on the Council's portal, based on merit, category and the candidate's order of choices. Admission even to small institutions is only through counselling. In the 2026 brochure, seats are reserved as SC 21%, ST 2%, OBC 27% and EWS 10%, with horizontal reservation of up to 20% for women, 5% for persons with disabilities, 5% for children of defence personnel and 2% for dependants of freedom fighters. These figures can change until counselling begins.
