How ranks are used

Candidates get an Integrated Merit Rank from their marks, and a separate rank in each engineering branch. The qualifying score is 25% of the aggregate (50 of 200 marks); SC and ST candidates have no minimum, and the rank is cancelled if the SC/ST claim proves invalid. Engineering ties are broken by marks in the engineering subject, then Mathematics, then Physics, then age. Pharmacy ties go to the qualifying-examination percentage, then age. B.Sc. (Mathematics) ties go to Mathematics marks, then the qualifying-examination aggregate, then age. For B.E./B.Tech. in Information Technology and in Computer Science and Engineering, diploma holders in the same discipline get first preference, and vacant seats go to diploma holders of any engineering branch by integrated merit rank. Requests for re-totalling or revaluation are not entertained.
