How ranks are used

Two separate ranks are generated. The MPC rank (out of 120 marks: Maths 60, Physics 30, Chemistry 30) is for diploma courses at polytechnics affiliated to SBTET. The MBiPC rank (Maths scaled down to 30, plus Physics, Chemistry and Biology, out of 120 marks) is for the agricultural, horticultural and veterinary diploma courses. The qualifying mark is 30% of 120, i.e. 36 marks. Admission is by web counselling: candidates opt for any course in any polytechnic in order of priority and seats are allotted on merit and the admission rules in force. The counselling schedule is notified after the results. A rank alone does not entitle a candidate to admission.
