About Kalaignar Karunanidhi Institute of Technology
Kalaignar Karunanidhi Institute of Technology (KIT) is a private self-financing engineering college at Kannampalayam, Coimbatore, established in 2008 by the Vijayalakshmi Palanisamy Charitable Trust. It is affiliated to Anna University, Chennai, and is autonomous: the UGC conferred autonomous status in June 2019 and Anna University granted it for ten years, 2019-20 to 2028-29. AICTE approves its programmes (extension of approval for 2026-27 dated 12 May 2026). NBA accreditation currently covers Aeronautical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering (to 31 December 2028) and Biotechnology (2025-26 to 2027-28).
