Overview

AIAPGET is the NTA-conducted entrance test for MD/MS in Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homoeopathy. Dates for the 2027 cycle are not announced yet. The National Testing Agency (NTA) holds the All India Ayush Post Graduate Entrance Test on behalf of the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM) and the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH), in consultation with the Ministry of Ayush. As per the 2026 information bulletin, it is the common entrance test for All India Quota and State Quota MD/MS seats, and no other Ayush college or university runs a separate entrance exam for these courses in that session. The 2026 test (academic session 2026-27) had 51,482 registered candidates, of whom 49,864 appeared, at 205 centres in 104 cities.

Of the 49,864 candidates who appeared in 2026, 31,178 were women and 18,686 were men; by category, 16,782 were General, 3,822 General-EWS, 21,019 OBC-NCL, 6,025 SC and 2,216 ST. In NTA's result release of 18 September 2026, the Ayurveda qualifying cut-offs were the 50th percentile for UR/EWS candidates, the 40th percentile for OBC, SC and ST candidates and the 45th percentile for UR/EWS-PwD candidates. NTA has no role in counselling: the Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee (AACCC) counsels for All India Quota seats, and the designated state or UT authorities counsel for State/UT quota seats on the basis of AIAPGET merit.

  • The original internship completion certificate must be produced at counselling.
  • Eligibility is provisional at every stage; false or suppressed information leads to cancellation of candidature or admission.

  • Medium by subject: Ayurveda in Hindi and English; Homoeopathy in English only; Siddha in Tamil and English; Unani in Urdu and English.
  • If a question is dropped because of a technical error, full marks go to all candidates. If the answer key changes after challenges, only candidates who attempted the question correctly as per the revised key get marks.
  • If a translation is ambiguous, the English version of the question is treated as final.
  • Syllabus basis: the paper covers the subjects and knowledge areas in the graduate-level education regulations of the respective system, issued by NCISM or NCH. The NTA bulletin does not list topics and refers candidates to the NCISM and NCH websites.

How to Apply for AIAPGET 2027

  1. Register on the NTA AIAPGET website with your own e-mail ID and mobile number, create a password and security question, and note the system-generated application number.
  2. Log in with the application number and password, enter personal, educational and internship details, choose exam cities in order of priority, and upload the live photograph and scanned images.
  3. Pay the examination fee online by debit card, credit card, UPI or net banking.

The three steps can be done together or separately. Name, date of birth, gender and photograph should match the candidate's Aadhaar details. Morphed, AI-generated or heavily edited photographs can lead to rejection.
