Overview
JENPAS (UG) is the WBJEEB entrance test for B.Sc. Nursing and paramedical courses in West Bengal; dates for the 2027 cycle are not announced yet. The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) conducts it as an OMR-based common entrance test for Nursing and Allied Health Sciences undergraduate courses and then runs the e-counselling. 2026 cycle for reference: online application 24 March to 18 April 2026 (extended by a notice of 13 April 2026), correction 20 to 22 April 2026, admit cards 29 May to 7 June 2026, exam on 7 June 2026 (Sunday), final answer keys on 24 July 2026 and counselling notification on 5 August 2026. Counselling was scheduled in three rounds, with seat allotment results on 12, 21 and 27 August 2026 and reporting to institutes until 31 August 2026.
How scores are used
Paper-I marks give a General Merit Rank (GMR) used for every course except BHA; Paper-II marks give a BHA Merit Rank (BMR); candidates who sit both papers are considered for all courses, including BHA. Ties in Paper-I are broken by fewer negative marks in total, then more marks in Biology, Chemistry, Physics and English, in that order. Seats are filled through WBJEEB e-counselling against the seat matrix declared by the Department of Health and Family Welfare, Government of West Bengal.

- Reserved-category (SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, PwD) candidates need lower minimum marks than General and EWS candidates, as shown above.
- PwD candidates get a 40% fee concession (written application to the Chairman, WBJEEB, at least 60 days before the exam) and 20 minutes per hour of compensatory time if they have benchmark disabilities.
- Reservation applies only to Indian citizens domiciled in West Bengal and follows West Bengal Government rules; certificates are checked by the allotted institute during counselling.

- Mode: OMR sheet, answered with a blue or black ballpoint pen; a marked response cannot be changed or erased.
- Duration: 1.5 hours per paper; every question is multiple-choice with four options.
- Languages: English and Bengali (except Basic English, Logical Reasoning and General Knowledge).
- 1-mark questions: one correct option; 1 mark for a correct answer, minus 1/4 for a wrong answer or for marking more than one option, zero if not attempted.
- 2-mark questions: one or more options may be correct; 2 marks only when all correct options and no wrong option are marked; partial marks of 2 x (correct options marked) / (total correct options) when no wrong option is marked; zero if any wrong option is marked; no negative marking.
- Answer keys: model answer keys are shown for a short period; each challenge costs ₹500 per question plus bank charges; the Board then publishes final answer keys.

Paper-I: Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Basic English
- Based on the Class 11 and Class 12 syllabi and curricula of recognised Boards and Councils in India; the bulletin refers to a list of Boards on the WBJEEB website and does not list chapters.
Paper-I: Health Aptitude (official syllabus)
- Hygiene and sanitation: personal hygiene, public sanitation, disease prevention
- Common diseases: communicable and non-communicable diseases, treatment protocols
- Healthcare systems and services: infrastructure, first aid and basic life support, vaccination, health awareness
- National health policies and programmes: government schemes such as Ayushman Bharat, legal and administrative frameworks
- Human anatomy and physiology: skeletal, muscular, respiratory, circulatory, digestive and nervous systems; effects of exercise and ageing
- Nutrition and dietetics: macro and micro nutrients, balanced diet, deficiency diseases, clinical nutrition
- Mental health: psychological well-being and stress management
- Professional ethics and aptitude: qualities of a healthcare professional, basic patient rights
Paper-II (BHA only)
- Physical Science and Mathematics: Class 10 syllabus of the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education and equivalent recognised Boards; General Knowledge, Basic English and Logical Reasoning: Class 12 level.

How to Apply for JENPAS (UG) 2027
- Register on the WBJEEB portal with personal details (name, parents' names, date of birth, gender, contact details), set a password and security question; an application number is generated. Name, parents' names, domicile and date of birth cannot be changed later.
- Fill in the application: domicile, category, PwD status, family income, religion, nationality and academic details; choose Paper-I only, Paper-II only or both; list exam zones in order of choice.
- Upload a recent colour photograph (JPG/JPEG, 10 to 200 kB) and signature (JPG/JPEG, 4 to 30 kB) in one go.
- Pay the fee by net banking, debit card, credit card or QR code; the fee is not refundable.
- Download the confirmation page; the application stays incomplete until it is generated.
- Use the correction window for details other than the primary data; requests after the window are not entertained.
- Download the admit card on the notified date and carry a printed copy to the exam.
