Routes to Intermediate and what follows
Two routes lead to the Intermediate exam. Under the Foundation route, a candidate registers for Foundation after Class 10, passes Foundation after appearing in Class 12, registers for Intermediate and completes 8 months of study. Under direct entry, commerce graduates and postgraduates with at least 55% marks, other graduates and postgraduates with at least 60%, and ICSI or ICMAI Intermediate-level passers register for Intermediate without taking Foundation. After passing both Intermediate groups, a candidate completes the Integrated Course on Information Technology and Soft Skills (ICITSS), registers for two years of practical training and registers for the Final course.
A group is passed by scoring at least 40% in each paper and 50% of the group's total at one sitting. A candidate who fails a group but scores 60% or more in a paper is exempt in that paper for the next three sittings.
