Overview
The All India Bar Examination (AIBE) is the Bar Council of India's qualifying test for advocates; dates for AIBE 22 (AIBE-XXII) are not announced yet. The Bar Council of India (BCI) holds it as directed by the Supreme Court in Bar Council of India v. Bonnie Foi Law College, and the Bar Council of India Trust-PEARL FIRST issues the schedules and notifications. BCI's schedule notification for AIBE-XXI describes it as a qualifying exam that every practising advocate who enrolled after 2010 must pass in order to practise before the courts; it is not an admission test. The latest completed edition, AIBE-XXI, was held on 7 June 2026 and its result was declared on 18 July 2026. No AIBE-XXII schedule has been published, so the facts below come from the AIBE-XXI notifications, syllabus, question paper and guidelines and from the fee notification on the AIBE portal.
