Overview
VITMEE is the VIT computer-based entrance test for two-year M.Tech. and MCA programmes; dates for the 2027 cycle are not announced yet. VITMEE stands for VIT Master's Entrance Examination and is conducted by Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT). How the rank is used
Shortlisted candidates are told on the website or by SMS to join online counselling, where they choose campus, programme and fee category; seats are allotted on rank. M.Tech. candidates pay an advance of Rs 1 lakh after allotment and MCA candidates pay the full tuition; VIT checks eligibility after the tuition payment. GATE is not mandatory, and a valid GATE or CEED score earns the AICTE PG scholarship for M.Tech. A candidate who scores zero is declared not qualified and cannot join counselling.

- M.Tech. Biotechnology: B.E./B.Tech. in Biotechnology, Industrial Biotechnology, Genetic Engineering, Agricultural Biotechnology, Bio-chemical, Bio-medical, Bio-informatics, Chemical, Food Science and Technology or Leather Technology; or a pharmacy degree, an M.Sc. in a life-science branch, MBBS, M.Sc. (Ag) or M.V.Sc.
- M.Tech. Artificial Intelligence and Data Science: B.E./B.Tech. in any branch or MCA. Other M.Tech. programmes list their own branches in the brochure.
- Placement rule: companies at VIT ask for 60% in the degree and in Class X and XII or diploma; an academic gap of up to two years is permitted.
- Qualifying documents had to reach VIT before 14 August 2026 for M.Tech. (15 August 2026 for MCA), or the admission was cancelled with the admission fee forfeited.

- A candidate who scores zero in total is declared not qualified and is not eligible for counselling.
- M.Tech. subject papers (codes): Biomedical, Civil, Chemical, Electrical and Electronics, Instrumentation, Electronics and Communication, Biotechnology, Mechanical, Computer Science and IT, Pharmacy and Physics; MCA has one paper (MC).
- The M.Tech. question paper is in English only, and candidates can appear only once in the cycle.
- Test-day rules (M.Tech. 2026): reach the hall at least 1.5 hours before the start with the printed admit card, no entry after 2:00 pm and no leaving before 4:30 pm; text material, calculator watches and mobile phones are not allowed.

How to Apply for VITMEE 2027
- Register as a new user on the VITMEE application site for the programme (M.Tech. or MCA) and verify the mobile number and email by SMS and email.
- Sign in and fill in the personal and education details.
- Pay the application fee online.
- Upload the photograph and signature, then the documents listed below.
- Download the filled application; edit it and upload documents by the last date, and download the admit card before the test.
- After the test, shortlisted candidates give campus, programme and fee-category choices in online counselling and pay the M.Tech. advance fee or the MCA tuition by the deadline.
