About Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering

Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering is a study of various principles and practical aspects related to the designing various telecommunications equipment. Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers develop prototypes of integrated circuit components.

B.Tech/BE trains students in dealing with the performance of telecommunication systems. BE/B.Tech in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering is a 4-year program. Some of thedisciplines offered under this course by the top institutes of the country include Digital Logic Design, Analog Circuits, Semiconductor Devices, Network Theory, Signals, and Systems, Communication Systems, and Techniques Engineering Electromagnetics.

Other than there are also options for choosing Principles of Digital Communication, Microwave Engineering or Digital Signal Processing. One can pursue M.Tech in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering after successful completion of BE/B.Tech.

The engineers of this field are expected to have knowledge of basic science and engineering concepts and they need to acquire a full knowledge of computer architecture and microprocessors, VLSI and embedded systems, electromagnetic field theory, analog and digital.

This field of engineering is all about enhancing the  telecommunication system. Their jobs include work like designing and modifying electrical communications systems by managing and monitoring the performance of the design and planning team.

The job field of these engineers is quite vast. Telecom engineers are required in a variety of fields like radio, television, satellite, optical fibre and internet. However, students should confuse themselves with ETE and ECE. Both of these engineering disciplines are different. They have some common subjects but they are not same and do not serve the same purpose.
