The leather goods and accessories sector is only on the verge of growth for which the students have to acquire knowledge about computer applications in leather technology as well as the theory of mechanism of inorganic tannages.

Everything related to the synthesis, production and refining of leather is taught in this course. This is taught to make sure that it is put to efficient use in the near time. Leather Technology Scope

The Indian leather industry is the fourth largest export earner in the country and a number of designers are getting absorbed by footwear companies as technical designers. They are involved in cutting, pattern making as well as designing of products such as belts, bags, gift items, purses etc.

The leather industry has made its way into the ???Make in India??? campaign as the government is aiming to increase the turnover of the leather industry from the existing $12 billion (nearly Rs 79,392 crore) to $27 billion (Rs 1.78 lakh crore) by 2020. This means that there will be job creation for almost six million people in this sector.

The students who complete this course have a bright scope in the industries like fashion and others. The working zones include technical and designing areas.

The designers have an opportunity to work in the footwear industries as designers or stylists which is a heaven in the glamour world.

With experience, the candidates can also grow further in thee job positions like that of a production technologist to quality control checker, research or technical management, etc.
