About Petrochemical Engineering Course

Petrochemical Engineering Course 2023 Petrochemical engineering is a branch of Chemical Engineering which deals with operations involved in refining petroleum or crude oil by the use of advanced technology. The course also includes extraction of crude petroleum obtained from the core of earth.

Students learn about the mechanism and techniques involved in activities like exploration, production and exploitation of oil or natural gases. After the completion of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes in petroleum engineering, students can work in job profiles like petroleum geologists, drilling engineers, reservoir engineers and production engineers.

The work of the petrochemical engineers in daily lives include refining of crude petroleum to process various products such as petrol, diesel and kerosene oil. The engineers will have to work in petroleum exploration, drilling (to find and extract petroleum from the rocks underneath earth's surface), extraction and processing. Their job is to plan, supervise and improve all Petrochemical-producing operations, from exploration, exploitation and development to abandonment.

Everything related with the activities related to the production of Hydrocarbons, which can be either crude oil or natural gas. Of course, these engineers work in the petrochemical industry. The industry that produces chemicals using oil and natural gas as its raw materials is the one where they work. Petrochemicals are manufactured into thousands of industrial and consumer products including rubber, plastics, detergents, textiles and food preservatives.
