New Trends to follow
The main client or the main industry belonging to this course is the newspaper agencies and publishing houses. With the shift happening in the world from the regular newspapers to the digital newspapers and ebooks, this industry has somewhat come into the danger zone of being evicted entirely from our lives but it is not going to happen anytime soon.
Packaging and transportation are one of the new-age requirements in pulp and paper technology sector and hence huge industries are being established for the same. They require the same technology in their industry. This is where the knowledge of the paper and the pulp technology comes into the picture. It is being adapted into the chemical industry, food industry, fertiliser industry and many other industries. New age and technology will change the direction of this field.
Quite hard to say but the scope of this course is a lot less in the present times as compared to the other branches of engineering. This is because of the rise of digital technology in the world.
The world is progressing and we are slowly having a shift from magazines, newspapers, journals to digital blogs, videos, e-journals, etc. With the introduction of alternate materials and mechanisation, it seems like the paper industry is dying.
But, still the scope is fair enough in the targeted industries. Even if the paper industry is dying, the paper and pulp technology is still required in a variety of products through branding and other things. Manufacturing of food, fertilisers, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, fragrances and many other industries are applying this technology for their production.
No matter how much we progress, this industry is going to stay for the longest time for a lot of reasons. This is because the paper is still used and preferred by a large section.
The packaging industry depends on the paper industry. Transporting companies require large amounts of paper.
Apart from India, some of the best countries for this course and future jobs are Japan, U.S, Finland, China, and Germany. Working in these countries will improve your chance of employment.
