Rubber Technology Scope

The biggest producer of natural rubbers in the world is India. When it comes to the production of tyres, India alone produces 80% tyres in house. According to the ministry of commerce and industry, the per capita production and consumption of natural rubber are 12.40 million tonnes and 12.60 million tonnes respectively. Talking about the production, manufacture and consumption of rubber products, India is one of the leaders in that case.

This statistics and data shows that India is always in a need of rubber technologists and engineers in high demand always.

Rubber is a product that is needed in our day to day life in various products. Some of the many products made of rubber are accessories, garments, footwear, stationery, toys, to automobile parts. This career and this sector is here to stay for the longest time in India and abroad.

Both natural and synthetic rubber is an excessively used commodity. The most number of this industry are in the automobile sector and also the graduates from rubber technology can also scrap off attractive career opportunities in all the sectors that use rubber primarily or even secondarily.

A point to note is that there are almost 6000 rubber units in India, which provide professionals with high employment chances.

The per capita consumption of rubber and plastic in India is way behind the developed countries. So, this provides budding engineers with a chance to excel in rubber technology.
